Sustainability continues to be a huge topic of discussion in the UK and around the world. The beauty industry has often been criticised for being one of the biggest producers of waste. According to Zero Waste, over 120 billion units of non-recyclable packaging are produced by the cosmetic industry around the world; however, we are increasingly seeing improvements within this industry, with many brands already making the necessary changes to improve their practices.

Neal & Wolf has taken important steps towards protecting the planet, our biggest New Year Resolution is to continue to improve our footprint and educate more people to a sustainable lifestyle. We thought it would be a good idea to share with you our top 5 sustainability tips that can be applied to anyone’s day to day life.

Tip #1: Choose eco-friendly beauty products

If you are thinking of becoming more sustainable, it’s probably time to switch your attention to new brands and be open to shop around to find the most suitable products for yourself. You’d be happy to know that Neal & Wolf bottles are 100% recyclable - our bottles are made from either LDPE, HDPE or PP plastics or glass. It’s important that you take the time to recycle your beauty products properly by washing or re-using your containers.

Tip #2: Don’t leave the water running

Did you know that only 1% of the water available on the earth is for human utilisation? You might not realise this; however, small changes can bring positive long-term impacts to the environment! You don’t need to leave the water running while brushing your teeth, washing your hair or applying your hair mask. You might think it’s easier to leave the water on, but it’s important to start valuing its importance.

Tip #3: Check out the products’ ingredients

If you are determined to improve your environmental footprint for good, we would recommend for you to check the ingredients your beauty products contain – are those natural or organic? If the answer is no, then you might have to start looking for something a little different. We are proud to say that all our Neal & Wolf products are sulfate-free, paraben-free, TEA-free and cruelty -free and our formulas are designed to benefit your hair! We also have a wide range of vegan-friendly products, including our best-selling Blonde shampoo & conditioner.

Tip #4: Take a recyclable shopping bag with you

There are no more excuses, recyclable shopping bags can now be found anywhere…so have you got yours? According to research, ONE plastic bag can take between 15 to 100 years to decompose…now time that by 50, 100 or 1000! So, let’s be more kind to our planet and start using recycling bags when going out for shopping.

Tip #5: Find products with small packaging

Our last but not least sustainable tip is to consider using products that come in smaller packages as this will help minimise the waste caused by your favourite beauty products. Small packaging or no packaging at all is what you should be looking for, our Neal & Wolf products now come in smaller boxes, aiming to cut waste and reduce delivery loads, because good things come in small packages!

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle is what this year is all about for us, are you on board with this too?
