Photographer: Jennifer Su[/caption] Sequins! No matter how cold, gray, and dreary it may be outside, on New Years Eve, you're always allowed to brighten things up with a few sequins. The shiny glittery effect is the perfect symbol of the start of something new and optimistic as well as being sparkly and different enough to mark that this is a special evening. A strapless number like shown here on Jennifer Su is definitely do-able even in the cold weather when paired with the right jacket. Throw some loose waves in your hair like in the image above, for the perfect New Years Eve look. Loose wavy hair is perfect for a party night as it is relaxed and carefree. Dressed Up Maxi
If cold legs are not an option for you, why not try dressing up your favorite maxi dress? A dark colored maxi with darker belt looks classy, but another idea would be to brighten up the look with gold or silver accessories. And you obviously do not want to be the most dressed down at the party, so go a little more extravagant with your hair with an up do, something like a top knot as worn by stars like Jennifer Lopez works well. An Old Stand By
The little black dress is a go to outfit for any occasion, and New Years Eve is no exception. You can get away with any length and a variety of shoe options when wearing a black dress, and it is an easy option to dress up with makeup and jewels. Because your outfit will be competing for attention with the sparkles and dazzles of more shimmering dresses on New Years, be sure to put more thought into the hair and get fancy. A braided bun is an excellent example on how to be chic, yet wow. Shimmering Trousers
You are reading it correctly- sequined trousers. They were all the rage on the major runway shows this year, and are actually a great staple to add to your everyday wardrobe. But for those not quite daring enough yet to try to pull off sequins in everyday life, why not try them on the day sequins were made for- New Years Eve? Pair them with basically any blouse top you have and a pair of heels. Your legs will stay warm and you are sure to turn heads being the only woman at the party not in a dress. Get even sexier by throwing in some loose waves in your hair. Here's to a great night and a wonderful 2014!
