We all watch the Golden Globes every year, and not only to predict the winners. This is one extravaganza where the celebrities want to look their best, and since we all share that aspiration, the Golden Globes offers an endless supply of hairstyles to check out and try out. This year, it looks like the past is the new present. Lady Gaga reincarnated Marilyn Monroe with a figure-hugging dress and platinum blonde curls. Her stylist created this playful yet classy look by using a texturising spray prior to create and capture those lush pin curls. Another star who rocked her retro look was Katy Perry, who used plenty of volumiser to create her dramatic half-down half-up hairstyle. Emilia Clarke pulled off a feminine and classy version of the same look, but with a more natural appearance. Cate Blanchett's tribute to the past was a faux bob with a braid in the back that made her vintage look seem hip and current. All you need to pull off the same hairdo is plenty of texturiser, plus your favourite volumiser for extra body. Kate Winslet used the 1920s as her blast from the past inspiration. Her side updo, which showed off her gorgeous face and neckline, was created using a styling whip for volume, followed by dry shampoo and ultra-hold hairspray to keep the style perfect all night. Kate Hudson apparently got a haircut moments before hitting the red carpet. Her shoulder-length bob was treated with mousse and styled with a paddle brush to add the right amount of movement and texture. If there was ever a ‘style on the go' for busy people, this is it.
