The autumn / winter 2017 fashion shows were a big hit with fashion followers, and had a politically inspired undercurrent.

Bold and stand out clothes, makeup and hair styles were all about the power of women.

Hair styles ranged from powerful plaits to strong full fringes, out of bed hair and soft waves added a mix of sexy and love and romance.

Here’s our take on the best styles on show and a few of the best accessories of the season.

Side partings

Strong side partings were on show at various designers. Models at Louis Vuitton, Missoni and David Koma all used different takes on this style. While Louis Vuitton went for a grunge feel, Missoni adopted a sleek and smooth approach to the side part, and David Koma added texture and playfulness by pairing the side part with cool side braids amplifying the power look.

The punk rock look can make for a fierce feminine look when handled correctly. Catwalk models at the autumn winter shows were styled with a mixture of bold colours and shaggy crops.

Marni opted for shaggy cuts with a laid back grunge feel. At Marc Jacobs bold punk colours and rainbow shades stole the show, while Versace chose a more reserved dip dye look.

Love and romance was a big theme at major fashion shows. Soft romantic waves were the look of choice at Badgley Mischka. At designer Jenny Packham the eye-catching look was romantic flowing locks, woven gently together.

Pretty twists and textured out of bed hair were also on trend styles used at designers including Alexander Wang.

Autumn / winter 2017 has some great accessory trends to get on board with. Glittery and glamourous hairbands were a hit at the fashion shows, and spotted at designers such as Chanel.

Bold and simple all black bows and headbands were a major inspiration at designers such as Temperly London and Tory Burch.

Large oversized bows in particular were a stand out look. This strong feminine style ties in perfectly with the overarching powerful women theme of the season.
