The hottest hair trends for the Spring/Summer season 2017! This season is all about women’s empowerment - think sleek power styles and braids any way you like them. If you’re looking for styles with a little more body we’ve got you covered. Short styles and shaggy 70s and 80s waves are setting catwalks on fire.

Slicked back beauty

Don’t be afraid to use plenty of product this season. some of the hottest styles we’re seeing are wet-look, slicked back styles with blunt ends. Part your hair wherever you like, just make sure to nail those flyaways. These hardline looks push a powerful message.

Braids

If you’re looking for a way to reflect your personality and stay right on trend, check out braided styles. Use one or two thin braids to add texture to your waves, or go all out with a bold, messy single plait. Secure your hair at the nape of your neck, weave as many plaits as you can and then pin them into a stylish low bun - a style that will carry you from the office to the dinner party.

80s waves

It looks like there’s an ode to the 80s coming back this season. Think lots of body with loose waves, or tighter curls with maximum volume. Perfection is losing your part in amongst the loud volume.

Short is in

We love short hair and the fresh looks for Spring/Summer are really something. Work a short bob with plenty of body. If you’re looking for a supershort cut you’re in luck. Don’t feel limited to a single length. Play with short sides and a feature section to make a statement. Pixie cuts can be softened with a forward combed fringe.

70s shag

If the 80s brought waves, the 70s were all about the shag. Aim for a tousled look with a bit of body. Don’t get too close to a perfect curl or neat bangs. Cutting in bangs that fall above or around the eyes really signs off the retro look. Add a bandana for extra cool.

Gelled wet look styles

There’s a great cross over here with the slick power styles. You can achieve the wet look with almost any style. Long and loose evokes grunge and rock-chick imagery. Shorter wet-look styles look sharp too. This method is also a great way to freshen up your regular styles, like a half up do or simple bun.
