It's just a few hours since the Met Gala ended and after a night of stunning outfits, high fashion and beautiful hair we will bring you all the highlights.
In case you're wondering The Met Gala (also known as The Met Ball) is an annual fundraising event held in New York for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The event is held specifically to raise money for the Costume Institute section of the museum which holds more than thirty-five thousand costumes and accessories from seven centuries of fashionable dress.
Considering the event there is more pressure than ever to dress well here!
The dress of the night - Beyonce
Beyonce wore the most daring dress of the night (and possibly the most daring dress ever) - a see through custom Givenchy design with strategically placed jewels paired with a high ponytail. The look managed to steal the limelight from other contenders Rihana and Kim Khardashian and a image posted by Beyonce to her Instagram page already has had over 1 million likes – proving the popularity of this look.
The New Cut of the Night – Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes stepped out with a completely different look at the Gala – a short and sharp bob. The new cut is a drastic departure from her previous long wavy locks and she really suits this new more formal look. Katie paired the new hair with a gorgeous blue Zac Posen dress which featured a intricate and sparkly detail and a cut out back.
Met Gala Hair Trend
One overall trend we noticed from the evening was the topknot. Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Hudson Alicia Keys plus many more went for this glamorous look.
However to reach the level of topknot on display here you will need more than a few seconds chucking your hair up and pining it in place. To get the A-List style look you need a crisp and slick finish and not a stray hair out of place.
Products such as Neal & Wolf Silk, a smoothing blow dry balm and Control, a flexible styling hairspray can help you recreate this hot Met Gala look at home.
